Zakuro - Refined Hell's Empire-Wide Flag

So, here's how I've set things up in my head...
Zakuro lives in hell, post biblical times. They have since built civilization. Here's their flag.
The pentagram represents their origins as Dante's Inferno.
The vertical red stripes represent the twin blood waterfalls on which the heart of the empire is located. Legend says that they contain the souls of the damned.
The blackness represents the physical darkness of which had to be dealt with when the flames of hell were extinguished until manufactured light sources were widely available.

I have no idea why I'm so fascinated by this stuff... o_O
